Forté’s Data Center was without power from 12/5/02 at 12:30am PST until 12/6/02 at 3:00pm PST.
Massive rainstorms and freezing temperatures combined to create the worst ice storm in Raleigh-Durham history.
Thousands of trees weighted down with frozen precipitation have toppled electrical lines throughout the state.
Over one million customers (including Forté Internet Software) in North Carolina are without power. See the
Herald-Sun's Weblog for up-to-the-minute details.
Fortunately, Mark Sidell found an open Home Depot store (with electricity) and he bought a gasoline-powered generator.
As a result, our web pages are now being surved up via fossil fuels.
We're sorry for any inconvenience. For the past 36 hour, our company was unable to send and receive email.
We're working hard to clear up the backlog. Furthermore, we've accelerated our plans to set up a redundant
data center in Long Beach, California.
Regards,
The Forté Team
