Agent's Installer will find and upgrade your current installation of Agent, maintaining all of your message databases and settings.
Agent's Installer is not incremental. In other words, if you are on Agent 1.93 and you are upgrading to Agent 5.0, you do not need to install any of the intermediate releases.
Note: Agent 4.x and above are not backward compatible with Agent 2.x or Agent 1.x. It is important that you BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO UPGRADE, then read the on-line documentation.
Install Agent for the First Time
| 1. Download the Agent file from the Agent Download Page. |
| 2. Run the Installer EXE file that you just downloaded. |
| 3. Run Agent and select the menu option, Help | Getting Started, for additional information. |
| 4. If you purchased Agent, follow the directions below to Enter your Agent Registration Key. |

Upgrade Agent to a Newer Version
Please consult the Agent Upgrade Policy if you have any questions about whether you are eligible for an upgrade.
| 1. Download the Agent file from the Agent Download Page. |
| 2. If you are running Agent, close it before proceeding. |
| 3. Make a backup copy of your Agent directory structure -- just to be safe. |
| 4. Run the Installer EXE file that you just downloaded. |
| 5. Run Agent and select the menu option, Help | Release Notes, for additional information. |
| 6. If you purchased Agent, follow the directions below to Enter your Agent Registration Key. |

Enter your Agent Registration Key
Your registration key was provided to you in an email when you purchased or upgraded Agent. If you lost your registration key, please contact us.
| 1. Copy your Agent Registration Key to the Windows Clipboard. |
| 2. Run Agent, and select the menu command, Help | Enter Registration Key. |
| 3. Paste your registration key into the text box. |
| 4. Press OK and all of Agent's features will be enabled. |
